Landin Williams was born in July 1984 in Portland, Oregon. The family moved back to California shortly thereafter and at the age of five he moved with his mother and sister to settle in Ottawa, Canada. Coming from a mixed race background, Landin was fortunate enough to experience the the best of both cultures. His mom describes him as a ''sensitive, selfless, deep thinker who always puts others and other's needs before himself."

His first exposure to music was listening to Micheal Jackson as a young child. In his teens, he discovered the fast growing hip hop style of music and quickly became immersed in this genre, by listening to artists like Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Athletic Mic League, DL Incognito, DMX and Nas. Rapping with all of it's complexities was intriguing to Landin as he tried to understand the full meaning behind this music with it's ever changing lyrics and musical techniques. Inspired by a sense of creation and a desire to explore his sensibilities, Landin began to dabble in the area of personal expression through lyric writing by tapping into some of his most inner thoughts.

While in High School, Landin, took a huge leap of faith, and using his own grass roots material decided to perform as a rap artist for a school project. The positive reception from his peers was overwhelming and it was this pivotal moment that drove him to delve further into the area of song writing. Over the next few years Landin spent months crafting his own unique style and perfecting his message.

In 2004, with four original tracks under his belt, and ready for public scrutiny, Landin entered a talent competition called ''five minutes of fame'', where his stage presence stole the show and he won! His vibrant, energetic, crowd pleasing performance was the highlight of the evening. He immediately found himself surrounded by excited fans all with one question....where can I buy your album? This was the confidence booster that Landin needed to begin the long journey of producing his own hip hop album. Feeling good about his music, he continued to perform at local venues around town, all the while dedicating most of his free time to further the album along.

Two years later in 2006, ''Creative Control'' the album was born. Landin has put his heart and soul into this project and has worked extremely hard to make his album one that can compete in today's ever changing hip hop market. He's proud to tell you that he alone meticulously handled every aspect of the entire project including instrumental choices, lyrics, recording, producing, marketing, album cover design and development. He spent hours researching all of the various components required in the release of a professional album.

Talent, passion, courage, drive, motivation, ambition, fearlessness, are only a few of the words used to describe a person who thinks they can succeed at such an enormous undertaking. Landin Williams is one such person dreaming one day to have his words heard around the world with the hope of making an impact for positive change.

Along with promoting his new “Creative Control” album, Landin continues to pursue his undergraduate education at the University of Carleton in Ottawa, Canada, where he is in his final year of completing a Bachelors Honours degree in Film Studies.
